Operation VANTAR, part of Project Alpha, is an MPS initiative for safeguarding missing persons when conventional tactics fail and no crime is involved. Developed because RIPA surveillance powers were unsuitable without a crime-related statutory purpose, VANTAR supports safe recovery by exploiting SOCMINT and communications data.

Operation Digital was an intelligence led investigation ran by the DMIU in order to identify a group of adolescent males involved in violent offences across Merseyside which involved the use of offensive weapons, ultimately resulting in an Attempted Murder. The presentation covers how the males involvement were identified by their own social media content.

We’re ashamed and never celebrate those f*ck ups.  Well, I think we should start celebrating f*ck ups, those are the best ways to learn. Therefore I’m sharing my most horrible and painful f*ck ups and the lessons I learned form it.
