Awards
We are pleased to announce that the National Family Liaison Awards will return for 2026; to recognise the hard work, dedication and contribution Family Liaison Officer (FLO’s), Family Liaison Advisors (FLA’s) and Family Liaison Coordinators (FLC’s) provide to investigations within Major Crime and Roads Policing.
The process for the awards will be as follows: -
- National FLO Adviser should circulate an email to all forces advertising that nominations are open, include criteria and process for submission with closing date and word count on entries.
- Each force will be given an opportunity to nominate FLO’s/FLA’s/FLC’s using a Microsoft Forms link and submit to CJS by 9th Sept, please nominate via the link/button below. It is important that all forces are given the opportunity to nominate individuals.
- Each region reviews the nominations and confirm their regional nominations by 1st October on Microsoft Forms
- The Homicide Working Group (HWG) will use their SIO Awards Judging panel to review the nominations on Microsoft forms - judged and voted virtually as per their HWG Awards process.
- There will be three categories:
Family Liaison Team of the Year Award
Recognises a team who has provided consistent exceptional service to both families and partner agencies during an investigation(s)
FLO/FLA/FLC of the Year Award
Recognises an individual who has worked tirelessly on an investigation(s) whatever the final outcome.
Lifetime Achievement Award FLO/FLA/FLC
Recognises exemplary performance of an individual who has shown true dedication and positivity to the role. This individual stands out as a role model for others.
