The continuous professional development of Senior Investigating Officers is at the heart of the University of Sunderland's Centre for Crime, Policing and Investigation.

The MA Investigative Management has been delivered for several years by experienced practitioners, attracting SIOs from all around the country who have achieved academic recognition for their workplace achievements.

The 2 year programme comprises 5x2 day modules looking at professional leadership and investigative decision making, culminating in the submission of a dissertation which the students can tailor their study to suit their career needs and research interests.

Following the success of the online Postgraduate Certificate on Critical Decision Making, the University has introduced an online Post Graduate Certificate in Investigative Leadership to support the successful completion of the PIP3 Learning and Development programme.
